Michelle Batton just came out with this AWESOME mini for the Faith Sisters blog train - "It's for the Bird" you can find this on her blog! I created this layout with the kit and the matching glitter styles!! This is a picture of St. Thomas this March during our honeymoon. A Page About Me

For one of my new stores, they've asked me to create a LO that shows something about ME. I'm so much better scrapping my husband, the cats, or my niece but I figured this time I'll actually use a picture of me. So here it is, this is my LO using my Tiffany Twisted and Pink Champagne kit and some word art I created separately. It's simple - and so am I. Well, hope this tells you a little bit about me! I did a creative call for Sweet Tomato Designs and did this adorable layout of Rusty curled up on my hubby's chair taking a nap under a blanket!! I thought the colors in this kit were PERFECT for this picture! The kit is called "Springtime Zen" and can be found here with all of the other awesome designs from Sweet Tomato Designs!

I had tons of fun recently doing a kit call for Simply.Scraps! I was able to scrap with her newest kit, Luh You Berry Much! It worked great because I had the PERFECT picture to scrap with it! I was Strawberry Shortcake a few years ago for a costume contest on Halloween and it fit perfectly into this kit! Here's my LO. Rehearsal Fun

Michelle Batton just came out with some stellar alphas, and I was SO excited for them I had to use them ... both ... in the same layout ... hehe! This is a LO of me and the hubby at our rehearsal on the boardwalk. It was a time for us to all get together and have a great time! I used Everyday Alpha, Everyday Messy, and My Little Goldfish Kit all by Michelle for this layout. I also used a glitter style of hers that hasn't quite been released yet, but I promise the day it is not only will I have links, but I'll have a layout created using the glitter and kit (*wink*wink*). I hope you enjoy!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone has some fun plans today :) While typically we spend it with family, we're a little to far away this year to make it home so instead we're doing things a little less traditional - we're going to a baseball game! A bunch of our friends are going to meet up with us at the local minor league team to enjoy 50 cent hot dogs and watch the opening weekend of baseball out here! In honor of the holiday, I have a word art freebie for you! I think this one could work well for all kinds of different LO's though I found the quote under "sports quotes". ATC Book Cover

Since I've been helping Tanige out with her challenges over at Scrapbookgraphics.com, I've been looking at all of the awesome ATC designs that people have been creating! I finally decided that I'd love to learn more and create along with these stellar challenges! So, in honor of that this week was my first week of Challenge participation. The challenge was to create a book cover (click here to visit the challenge forum!). I used some awesome ATC products from Tangie and really had a blast. I'm excited to see what the next challenge will be! I hope y'all will check it out and maybe even participate!!

This month for the MLAS Site CT I was SOOO lucky to be picked to scrap with kits from Designs by Helly! I already had 2 of her kits and was so excited to play with more! She's such a fun designer with a little bit of classy mixed in :) This first LO I did is using her kit "And Then Came You". I (of course... hehe) scrapped a picture of our wedding! My hubby truly is my life, and I'm beyond blessed to have him! If only he'd let me take more pictures of him you'd see hundreds of layouts of him doing all sorts of things I'm sure! I was picked for a 1 kit call to use this AWESOME kit from Designs by Krista, called Cupcake. I'm so in love with all of the kits at her store and just feel beyond excited to be scrapping with this one! In fact, I was so excited that I created a LO with the kit instantaneously! Here's my first LO using pictures of my niece from her 2nd birthday. Doesn't she just fit perfect in every LO I've made hehe! Anyways, I hope you'll swing by Krista's store - it's packed with gorgeous kits and embellishments! My first honeymoon photo scrapped! While we lost a good chunk of photo's due to a faulty memory card we did save quite a few! Here's a LO using a new kit from a new and awesome designer! This kit is called "Fun in the Sun" by 4 Shades of Blue. You can get her kit at Mellowbutterfly.com or by clicking on the link above! This kit was filled with so many cute and fun embellishments - I especially loved the palm trees and the fish!! You can see the little red one in the bottom right corner - it comes with a blue one too. If only I had a picture using Dr. Seuss... one fish two fish red fish blue fish! Sorry for not keeping up on my blog posting. My first attempt at hybrid scrapbooking!! I took a class at Jessica Sprague's website in her Scrapbook Alchemy series! I really enjoyed making the items that are part of the digital kit. I purchased items from Hobby Lobby and Jo Ann Fabrics to complete the page. I think I may try again with a different theme, but I did LOVE using our wedding :P

Well I'm just starting out my ideas to creating wedding books for us as well as for a few others, and it's tons of fun! I created this page as more of a "cover" idea than anything but I just really loved the way the colors and the title worked out. I used "Forever and a Day" from Inspired Mommie Designs for this LO! I also used a template from Tangie Baxter's "Drafts and Blueprints #7" new release! I know I don't typically use templates but the LO was so perfect for the papers and the style I wanted to do! Enjoy :)

What an adventure this week has been! I took up the Twilight series of books... and I was hooked!! So much so that I started them on Monday afternoon and finished them yesterday around 8PM!! Thats right, all 4! And I hate to admit it... I was very much slacking on my digiscrapping responsibilities (though I know all you twilight fans are thinking "way to go!" haha). I even bought the first movie and watched that! But don't fret, I'm back and ready with a new LO I did today!! I created a few but two are for my entry at After5 and ShabbyPickle's "So You Think You Can Scrap" challenge - So you'll have to wait a few weeks to see those!! here's a LO using some new products from Designs by Mel! Girlicious and Grungy Adventure Titles are some of her newest additions to the PrettyScrappy site so be sure to check those out! Altered Art

Well I had to scrap this picture - couldn't help myself! This LO is our engagement photo! It was literally taken about 30 seconds after I said YES! It's hard to believe that we're married already (and totally exciting to think about it too!). The kit I used is the newest kit from Just Passin Thru - Glorious. It just had the perfect colors to scrap bright, fun, happy pictures! I thought it would be great for our engagement photo. Keep your eyes out later this week for another super LO using this kit!

This is an image of my niece from their Christmas Tree hunt! She found a flower that was, shall we say... a little past its prime? hehe. I posted yesterday on the really awesome collab kit over at Pretty Scrappy - "Think Pink". I hope that y'all have checked it out (and bought it!! It's an awesome kit!). I've scrapped one page using it so far. Don't freak out! I know its not pink *gasp* but I have a good reason! This page is one I've created for my sister. Her mother passed away from breast cancer, and in her honor they donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for their wedding favors. I used elements and papers to match her wedding invitation colors and style to reflect their wedding. Enjoy!

My Life and Scrap

I've recently started participating in the forums at a new website - My Life and Scrap. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful! I'm glad to be part of it. I'm especially enjoying the multitude of challenges (and mostly the lack of restrictions on them - I love freedom of interpretation!). These two layouts are just a couple that I did for their challenges. "Kiss Me" is for their lyrics challenge and "Pink Summer" is for the Scrap-lifting challenge. It's so fun to put the creative juices to the test and to design within the rules! Enjoy!

Nature's Beauty!

I was picked up to do a 1Kit CT for Aimee Designs - and I'm so glad I was!! She's designed a new kit called "Raphael" thats just gone on sale this week. It's got a nice rustic feel to it and as I was browsing through all the pieces I decided that scrapping nature would be a really unique way for me to use this kit. I've been scrapping family, friends, and pets since the beginning so these are actually my first nature LO's! "Foliage" and "Utah" are both from my travels over the past couple years. I'm hoping to put together (one of these days) a book with a page from every state I've been to (which is a LOT!)... I just have to remember to take pictures in every state! So here, for the beginning of my collection - we have Vermont and Utah. Vermont I've spent many summers, falls, New Years celebrations and more in. Utah I've only driven through but its a beautifully unique drive! Enjoy!

What a beautiful little girl! This is an image of my niece at 5mo. I was lucky to be called for a 1kit CT using the "Sláinte!" kit from Jeanette Bollinger Designs. This kit is fantastic!! It's primarily Irish themed which is awesome (everyone knows my love for shamrocks... and flamingos but thats a post for another day!) and comes with delicate accents as well as bold ones! The kit is a new release to be sure to check it out!!

This LO is using her BRAND NEW kit "Aiden" availible now on PrettyScrappy.com :) This kit is fantastic but it was a real challenge to me! I'm sure if you look, you'll see I don't use many bright colors, especially masculine ones but I enjoyed the chance to try something new!! I scrapped a LO of my DH's best friend's dog, Bosco and another of a parade we saw in Solvang, CA in May of '08. Enjoy!

Another creative team that I've joined is "Just Passin Thru" and I have to say I'm so excited with this first kit! I tend to do pretty neutral color layouts and this kit, "Just Pretty" is BURSTING with bright, vibrant colors! I've designed two awesome LO's with this kit. "Lucy's Mirror" and "Picture Pretty" use pictures that are just perfect for the two girls I've scrapped! Well since my DH had to work on Valentines day (though he did come home with flowers and chocolates!) I've been scrapping away the time! I used two kits both by Designs by Mel for these two LO's. "Rusty's Ribbons" uses the "Nine Lives" kit, and "Norma's Flowers" features her newest release, "Touch of Spring" and its AOP! I had originally scrapped this one with no picture at all (kind of like a QC) and just figured I'd put a Picture of my niece in there. On my way to the folder with her pictures in it, I stumbled upon this one and knew it would be perfect! I hope you enjoy!

I decided to make another LO using the "Surprise Party" kit by Michelle Batton. I used a picture of my best friend's dog, Lucy. She's so easy to photograph and even easier to scrap! I used the "extraction" technique to make the LO softer and so that Lucy really looks like she's walking on petals! I think its a great way to change the look of a LO and make your subject look like he/she is PART of the design! Enjoy!

Curious Lives

I'll tell you that we most certainly have 2 of the MOST curious cats imaginable - Especially Rusty (he's the black cat). On 9 Feb we decided to make Salsa and chips from scratch and boy did these two want to help! Of course - Cosmo (the tiger cat) and Rusty are both "management" level cats so they had to supervise! They sat on top of the cabinets the entire time leaning over and trying to "help" us take items out of open areas... too bad most of that stuff didn't need to come out!! This LO was made using a kit called "Nine Lives" created by Designs by Mel. I'm so excited to use this LO as my announcement that I'm joining her Creative Team!! I'm sure you'll be seeing tons more of her awesome designs in my LO's from now on!

I've just completed a page using this beautiful kit from Carolyn Kite called "Charlotte's Dream". I am so lucky to have been picked by Carolyn to design a LO for this kit! Gingerbread House

In January I participated in "Scrapping with the Stars" where a group of us create 10 layouts in 5 days following what DSP designers call "power scrapping" techniques. I had a ton of fun participating in it. I learned at the same time that some layouts take a lot more time than others. The layout "moments" posted yesterday took all of 10 minutes and was an instant favorite of mine. This layout took quite a bit longer (almost an hour) to look right. I've learned a few techniques since January's SWTS so I'm hoping to re-scrap my gingerbread house but for now, this is my beautiful image!

"Moments" - In Dec 2007 I took Chris to our first ever Miami Dolphins football game. Though he spent his whole life in South Florida (and is a HUGE fan) he'd never once been to a game! I scrapped this page last month with DSP's "Scrapping with the Stars" challenge and its probably still my favorite layout to this day... well its between this one and the giraffe... hehe I'll post that one at a later date though - I'm still tweaking it here!

Under the Sea Plopper

I created my first plopper today using the papers I posted yesterday along with a coral brush that I created! The entire plopper is from the kit I'm currently working on that I have been calling "Coral Deluxe" but we'll see if the name sticks! I've been thinking of a couple others here and there too... I'm starting a kit that I'm tentatively calling "Coral Deluxe". I've based the colors off a beautiful picture of bridal flowers that I've been using as a basis to design mine. Most likely I'll adjust the kit as time goes on. Today I've created a backpack of papers in each of the shades of my colors. The papers are all "fabric" and I'm really excited for them! I'll try and create a page using the papers in the next day or so - I'd like to create some elements to go with them first! If you have any ideas for some cool elements to match leave a comment!! I think elements are the hardest part of designing so far but I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!! I'm thinking an actual "coral" piece! We'll see! Happy Scrapping - Bama

Denim Pages

So I was searching through my files of pictures yesterday (wishing I had more memory and that they weren't all on CD's...) and I found a close up of a pair of denim jean shorts that I took a picture of at a camping trip to test my camera lens (I use a Canon Rebel XT with the stock lens so far). I decided to clip a little piece out and see what I could do with it paper wise. I used my "Colors of Fall" swatch that I have and made a few papers with it. Here's the thumbnail kit of it!

Oh how adorable are my boys?! This is a page of Rusty, Chris and Cosmo made from my Sweet Romance kit. I really enjoyed making the kit - but as I was making it I had no idea what I'd scrap. I realized just after I completed it that I wanted to scrap "everyday" pictures of my boys. Love is in the little things you know!
